Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church established an Endowment Fund to ensure that the VPC congregation’s mission and ministry would continue in perpetuity.
Because of the forethought of current and past church members, gifts to the Endowment Fund have provided stability, flexibility, and an ability to expand our capacity to serve others.
Managing the Endowment
New Covenant Trust Company (NCTC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation (PCF), provides investment management services for the VPC Endowment Fund. PCF is the second oldest charitable foundation in the United States. NCTC has more than $470 million in assets under management. Their money management provides a service that the VPC endowment ministry team would not be able to achieve on their own. The endowment ministry team collaborates with Session to decide distribution of Endowment Funds.
With an eye to the future, the Endowment Fund is designed to protect the initial gift amount and distribute a portion of the investment proceeds to expand the ministry and mission of VPC beyond budgeted annual operating expenses.
Our Endowment Fund supports a variety of ministries, including:
- Faith Formation – Supports a growing children’s and youth ministry and vital adult education
- Worship and Music – Provides support to ensure inspiring worship and music
- Outreach – Helps to fund ministry partners’ greatest needs both locally and globally
- Facilities Administration – Supports the upkeep and ongoing improvements of our beautiful campus
- General – Provides support to non-budgeted needs
